What is a Public Paint Party?

With COVID lockdowns, we currently offer Virtual Public Paint Parties where you purchase a ticket by selecting a session of your choice from our calendar of events and join us online for a virtual class with people from around the World. We have had people join us from far and wide: Vancouver, Nunavut, New York, Los Angeles, England and more! 

Our Classic Virtual Paint Parties are $49.99 + Tax a ticket and include the paint party link, art instructor and all supplies required for setting up an artist studio from the comfort of your own home or office. Wine and beer can be purchased for take out from our licensed bar. We offer free pick-up from The Studio Paint Bar's location (80 Port Street East, Mississauga, ON) or shipping for an extra fee. Do I have to have previous experience with painting?

No artistic experience is necessary- just an adventurous attitude and an open mind! We will teach you how to create a COMPLETE masterpiece before you leave our session. These events are fun and you will "wow" yourself and perhaps make new friends! Every painting is designed to be recreated in your own style.

We occasionally host special events where you can learn things like dancing, cigar rolling, acrylic pour, mosaic and more- those events may be priced differently according to their materials or course description but are fun public classes to attend as well. Keep a look out for them on our website calendar, Facebook or Instagram!

What's in an art kit?

Why is an in-studio public party $44.99 and a virtual public party $49.99?

Long story short, a virtual party actually requires a lot more work and supplies than an in-studio public party. At the beginning of March, after trying out a few virtual classes, we realized at-home paint kits are a whole other ball game. At-home kits require brand new paint brushes instead of reusing brushes in-studio, we must create additional shifts for our staff to build the kits, we package them individually in boxes and bags instead of distributing them in-class, the paint requires extra packaging and we have included table cloths to ensure you have the best set-up for your painting experience. These are all added supplies and cost that we never had before COVID. We wanted to make sure our pricing was competitive and fair, while ensuring the highest-quality to our guests.

A common complaint with other online classes is that the instructor might seem distracted or unable to answer messages and troubleshoot with guests- this won't happen at The Studio Paint Bar. This is why we have implemented a designated phone number with a moderator to call off-line and not disturb the continuity of the session. Your instructor will be completely focussed on the audience and if you need any troubleshooting help, the moderator will be fully attentive to your needs.

How do I book into a Public Event?

Just go to our Calendar and pick whichever day suits you. The painting of the day and all the details are displayed for you so just click on "Add to cart" when you are ready and pre-pay for your event online.  Please note- we do not take payments over the phone.  If you have any questions, feel free to email us at hello@thestudiopaintbar.ca.

What is your refund policy?

If you are cancelling 1-2 tickets, we require a 72 hour notice to cancel your ticket and catering order. Refunds will be made via Studio gift cards.

If you are cancelling a group of tickets (3 and up), please give us 5 days notice to cancel your ticket and catering order.

If you are cancelling a private event, please refer to your event contract for details on your cancellation.

Do you have parking onsite?

Yes we do! We have free surface and underground parking. Pull into our parking lot right off Lakeshore by the Burger's Priest at 129 Lakeshore Rd East or if you go slightly east of 80 Port Street East then it will take you to the driveway to get to our free parking lot.

How are you different from other Paint Nights held at local bars?

We get this question a lot! Our focus is on your experience and we want you to have a great night out! Here are some of the many differences:

1. We are a dedicated studio custom built to host premium paint events. You will never feel cramped or rushed. Even our lighting was specifically selected for painting and workshop activities.
2. Our interior decor and overall ambiance in The Studio is unparalleled. We often get compliments that people feel like they have been transported to Europe (think Italy or Paris). Everything from our damasque wall printed with real Venetian plaster to our reupholstered, vintage velvet reading chairs (or as we like to call them, wine tasting chairs) and to our hand-painted gold finishes on our sparkling chandeliers have been designed by well-travelled owner and founder, Julia Chatterji.
3. We try to limit our class sizes to 15-20 people so you get the attention you need from the instructor. Every seat is the best seat in the house! Occasionally, we may have more people to accommodate group bookings, but we try and ensure that everyone is comfortable and can see the instruction and enjoy their experience.
4. We offer other unique experiences like live model paint events, special technique workshops, dance and paint nights, cultural immersion nights, special movie nights, kids and family weekend events, wine and scotch tastings, cigar rolling workshops, cocktail mixology workshops, live music nights and so much more! Check our calendar or sign up for our newsletter for dates and timings.
5. We are community oriented and regularly partner with local causes for fundraising events. We support local artists by offering our gallery wall to showcase their art, we welcome local musicians to come in and showcase their talent. We have also reserved Wednesday evenings for local artists to hold their own ticketed workshops in The Studio and frequently partner with our neighbouring studios to hold amazing one of a kind events for our guests.
6. Our Studio is also a premium event space for your special events. Think corporate appreciation events, birthdays, your own personal night club with DJ, anniversaries, bachelorettes, Art Shows (we have lot's of wall space) and even Pop-up space. We have a fully licensed bar and catering available. Let us take care of all the details!
7. We are 100% Canadian and local to Mississauga. We support local as well. All our materials, food, wine, vendors and contractors are sourced as locally as possible.

Can I have a private paint night?

Yes, absolutely! Our Studio Privé packages are customized to our clients. They start at a minimum of 12 painters or we require a minimum spend if you are choosing not to do a painting event

Please send us an email at info@thestudiopaintbar.ca with your party details and we can usually send you a complete quote within 24-48 hours!  Please state number of participants, date, food requirements and any other details to help us get back to you sooner.

Do I need to bring anything?

Other than your creative spirit, you don't need to bring a THANG! Everything you will need for the night is provided.  You will be treated to all the paint, easels, canvases, aprons, brushes etc that you will need for the session. Although our paint washes off, we recommend that you wear something you wouldn't mind getting a little paint on.

Do I have to have any artsy experience?

Absolutely no artistic experience is necessary. Most of our guests are actually first timers!

We have expert instructors and paintings designed to be taught in a way that will ensure that you will be pleasantly surprised by your painting! We regularly hear phrases like "Omg, I can't believe my painting turned out so well" or "I was so nervous when I started but this actually turned out really well" or "The last time I painted was in Grade 1 so I really didn't expect my painting to turn out so good" so be rest assured that you already have all it takes to paint. Just come in, grab a drink and relax as we take you on an artistic journey!

Are Kids allowed in The Studio?

Absolutely! Weekend mornings and afternoons are dedicated t0 Families and Kids. Check our calendar for kids events. We only feel that kids would not enjoy the evening sessions as they are a 19+ vibe after 6 pm.  However, Teenagers are more than welcome to attend our evening events.

What if I am a confident artist or don't need instructions?

We have something for you as well called Studio Libré or Freestylin' !  Some days we have dedicated to walk-in and paint sessions and all you have to do is purchase a canvas in a size of your choice starting at 25$+ tax and start painting whatever you want. All supplies like unlimited paint, easel (standing or table top), brushes, palette knifes, aprons and clean up are included in these session prices. Our artists will even help you plan your painting and guide you through colour mixing and painting techniques if you'd like. Please call or email ahead to ensure we aren't closed for a private event. Adults and Kids are welcome!
